# Staking Your BZE

Staking is the simplest way to put your BZE to work. You delegate some of your coins to a **validator** — one of the computers that keep the network running — and in return you earn a share of the rewards, including the new coins the network creates through inflation. You are helping keep BeeZee secure, and your coins stay yours the whole time: you are only choosing who to back, never handing them over.

Everything happens on one dashboard at [staking.getbze.com](https://staking.getbze.com). Before you can stake, connect a wallet.

## What the dashboard shows you

At the top of the page you will see a few headline numbers that tell you what staking looks like right now:

* **Staking APR** — roughly what you can expect to earn over a year, along with how much BZE is being handed out to stakers each day.
* **How much of the network is staked** — the share of all BZE that people have delegated. A higher share means a more secure network.
* **The unbonding period** — how long your coins take to come back to you after you unstake (more on that in [Managing Your Stake](/our-apps/staking/managing-your-stake.md)).

These figures update with the live network. For the wider tokenomics picture, head to the [BeeZee website](https://getbze.com).

## Choosing a validator

Below the headline numbers is the **validator list** — every validator you can delegate to. You can scroll or search it, and each entry tells you what you need to know at a glance:

* **Rank / voting power** — how much is staked with that validator. This is a rough sign of how established and trusted it is.
* **Commission %** — the small cut the validator keeps from the rewards before passing the rest to you. Lower is more generous to you, but a healthy validator needs some commission to keep its machines running.
* **A "Jailed" badge** — this appears when a validator is currently offline or has been penalised for misbehaving. A jailed validator earns no rewards, so neither would you while backing it.

As a rule of thumb, pick an **active validator with a reasonable commission**, and steer clear of any showing a Jailed badge. Spreading your stake across more than one validator is also a perfectly good idea.

## Delegating your BZE

Once you have picked a validator, staking takes a few seconds:

1. Click **Stake** next to the validator.
2. Enter an amount. Handy shortcuts fill in **25%, 50%, 75%, or Max** of your balance for you.
3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet, and you are done — rewards start adding up automatically.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Keep a little BZE spare for fees.** Every transaction on the network costs a tiny fee in BZE, so it is best not to stake absolutely everything. If you try to stake your whole balance, the app offers a one-click **Reserve BZE for fees** option that leaves a small amount behind for you — take it, so you can always claim rewards, unstake, or move coins later.
{% endhint %}

That is all there is to it. Once your BZE is staked, you can watch your rewards grow, claim them, move your stake, or unstake at any time.
