# Burning Raffles

A burning raffle is a way to help burn coins and maybe get a little something back for it — not a bet. Here's the key idea: **every contribution you make burns tokens**. That's the whole point. In return, each contribution gives you a chance to win a share of the prize pot, and whatever is left in the pot when the raffle ends is burned too. Win or not, your contribution always did its job — it took coins out of supply.

Because it's built entirely on burning, a raffle is a contribution mechanism, never gambling. You're not staking money hoping to grow it; you're helping shrink the supply, with a friendly chance of a reward for taking part.

## Taking part

When a coin has an active raffle running, you'll see a **Join Raffle** option on it. From there:

1. **Choose how many contributions** you'd like to make — each one is like a ticket.
2. The app shows you the **price per contribution**, your **total cost**, and your **win chance**, written plainly as "**1 in N**".
3. **Confirm**, and your tokens are burned as your contributions go in.

More contributions improve your chances — but they never guarantee a win. A better "1 in N" is still just a chance, so only contribute what you're happy to burn regardless of the outcome.

## Seeing your results

Results settle a couple of moments after you join. When they're ready, a full-screen animation plays and reveals the outcome of each of your contributions one by one, followed by a summary of how you did.

You don't have to sit and watch. If you close the animation, nothing is lost — your results still arrive as notifications, and any winnings are yours all the same. Close it whenever you like.

## Finding raffles and winners

* A dedicated **raffles page** lists every active raffle in one place, showing the **prize**, the **price** per contribution, your **chance**, and the **time left** to join.
* Each coin also keeps a **winners list**, so you can see who's won recently. Your own wins are tagged, making them easy to spot.

**For example.** That gaming guild runs a raffle on its **$GUILD** token to celebrate a new season. Members join with a few contributions each — every one of those burns $GUILD — and a handful walk away with a share of the pot. Whatever's left over is burned when the raffle wraps up, so the community ends the event with a little less $GUILD in supply and a bit of shared fun along the way.
